Is this an all ages venue?
Yes
Does The Wire sell food and drinks?
We have a basic snack bar in case you get hungry or thirsty but we don't sell alcohol. For those of legal drinking age and everyone else looking for a great place to eat, there is an amazing brewery two doors up as well as a cafe and bakery a block down along with other amazing restaurants within walking distance from the venue. I'm in a band/I'm an artist/I make films. How can I book at The Wire? All the information you'll need about booking can be found here. If you still have questions, please send us a message.
How can I get a lot of people to show up at my show so that I'll be playing to as many as possible?
Promotion! Promotion! Promotion! If you make a flyer, e-mail us a link to it so we'll be able to use it online too. You can also send us an e-mail if you'd like links to hi res versions of our logo to use on your flyer.
It's also a good idea to leave enough time in between shows. If your goal is to get high turn outs at your shows, we highly recommend against playing any presale shows in the week before or after your show at The Wire.
What type of sound and lighting equipment will The Wire use?
All you need to bring are your instruments and amps. You do not need to bring any PA equipment with you to The Wire because we already have sound and lighting taken care of. Your band is going to sound amazing. Check out our equipment page.
Will you mic my band's amps and drums?
Yes. We mic everything.
What is the occupancy at The Wire? 152
How much are the tickets to see bands play?
Usually $8. A little more for national touring acts.
Where should I park? Parking is free and located behind the venue off of 1st Avenue. The parking spaces in front of the building have a two hour limit so be careful.
Why can't I hang out in the parking lot or in front of The Wire while I'm waiting for my friend's band to play or after a show?
The city will take away our permit if they see people standing around (loitering) in the parking lot or in front of The Wire. Trust us, we want you to have fun and we don't want to be jerks but when we ask you to leave the parking lot or go inside the venue, it's only because we're trying to make sure the venue stays open and we would really appreciate your help with this!
Why aren't there ins and outs? That's so lame. We know, we know, but it's the only way we can keep track of how many people are in the venue and to know how many more people we can allow in to see bands play. Losing track of our occupancy would get us in big trouble with the city. Please use our patio in the back if you need to go outside for a bit.
Are pits/stage diving/two-stepping allowed?
No. Our insurance company would take away our policy if we allowed this and that would mean we couldn't be open anymore. Aside from that, we don't want anyone getting hurt. Watching four guys jump one guy who accidentally bumped into them in a pit (and other ridiculous behavior) just isn't our thing. If you don't think your fans will enjoy the show because of this rule, we're definitely not the right venue for you. |
